IT GIANT IN THE MAKING. PROBLEM SOLVED

Nthato Mosime

Technology is evolving faster than most can keep up with but Nthato Mosime, founder of Dig n Decker is making it accessible, practical and powerful for everyday businesses and individuals. Rather than seeing artificial intelligence as a futuristic concept he treats it as a tool for today, transforming hours of work into seconds with the right approach. “Right now, maybe 20% is real, 80% is AI,” he observes, reflecting on how digital content is rapidly reshaping the way we work, learn and connect online. For Nthato, the mission is clear: equip people with the skills and tools to thrive in a world where human and machine collaboration is the new norm.

Nthato grew up in the North West, Mafikeng, where he also attended Mmabana Arts, Culture and Sport Foundation, a space where many artists discovered and developed their talents including the late Jabulani Tsambo, popularly known as HHP and actress Gail Mabalane. He later attended St. Mary’s High before moving to Pretoria with his family. His early inspirations included Kenneth Mosime, a lawyer passionate about worker rights, and his late geography teacher, Mr. Magwadi, who mentored him and sparked his interest in practical problem-solving. Initially drawn to geology, Nthato’s path shifted when he discovered IT, enrolling in a diploma program and discovering a natural affinity for programming, software and laser math development.

His journey into entrepreneurship began with permanent roles at Vodacom and African Bank where he gained critical exposure to IT systems, budgeting, and client relationships. Observing the limitations of standard employment he decided to launch Dig n Decker, offering IT support to small businesses including his father’s construction company as the first client. Word of mouth grew the company, eventually leading to significant partnerships and entry into digital skills training for underrepresented communities.

Today, Dig n Decker provides a wide range of services: IT infrastructure support, hardware solutions, consulting, and training programs aimed at empowering small businesses and individuals. Nthato emphasizes that training is as critical as service delivery. By teaching clients to use technology efficiently the company enhances skill levels, employability and business productivity. Partnerships with organizations like Boundless App, Adapt IT, LGIT and Jalusi Tech have enabled Nthato to expand training programs including digital literacy for people with disabilities with plans to scale nationwide.

Trust has been a consistent challenge especially for a small company entering competitive markets. Nthato prioritizes client relationships actively collecting feedback and building credibility through consistent service delivery. Pricing strategies are carefully calibrated based on client needs hardware volume and technician experience ensuring sustainable growth without compromising value.

Achievements for Nthato include earning Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure AI Engineer Associate and successfully launching programs that empower communities through technology. Dig n Decker is part of Change The World 2026, among the top 18 companies presenting in Cape Town on 26–27 March. Recently Nthato hosted a special event focused on people with disabilities providing training access to digital tools from 17–19 March. Looking ahead, Dig n Decker aims to scale from serving small businesses to supporting larger enterprises while expanding digital skills training nationwide, bridging the gap between technology and opportunity in South Africa.
