Vodacom’s BEE scheme, YeboYethu has announced the resignation of Mr Tlhabeli Ralebitso as a non-executive director of the special purpose vehicle. His resignation was effective from the 5th of May 2017.
The board shared its gratitude to Mr Ralebitso for his valuable contribution to the company, for the past eight years and wished him the best for his future endeavours.
Ralebitso is a former management consultant with over 20 years operational and management experience in sectors including energy, logistics, manufacturing, telecoms and financial services. He is a 15-year veteran of numerous mergers and acquisitions transactions in which he provided guidance from the conceptualisation and planning stages of deals to providing post-closing oversight of portfolio companies. Tlhabeli is the founding Managing Director of Vodacom Ventures. He has also led Vodacom Group’s M&A and Investor Relations functions and managed the Group’s financial services business. He serves as an independent non-executive director and advisor to numerous boards.
Shareholders are further advised that Mr Matimba Mbungela has been appointed as a director; of the company and is also a member of the Social and Ethics committee with effect from Friday, 5.2017. Matimba, is currently the Chief Human Resource officer at Vodacom Group Limited and is a member of the Vodacom Group Executive Committee. Prior to this, he was the managing executive human resource for Vodacom South Africa until 2014.
Matimba has worked within the Vodacom and Vodafone Group since 2003 in various roles within the human resource. His previous experience includes; key human resource roles in blue chips companies such as BMW South Africa and Unilever. Ms Zarina Bassa, the chairperson of YeboYethu, stated that “she welcomed the new appointment and was also looking forward to Matimba’s contribution on the board”.
