NEF-RANDWATER PARTNERSHIP FOR YOUTH

NEF

The National Empowerment Fund (NEF), in partnership with the Rand Water Foundation (RWF) will host a strategic webinar aimed at unlocking opportunities within South Africa’s water and sanitation sector. The online session, scheduled for 6 March 2026 from 10:00 to 12:00 via MS Teams, will introduce the partnership between the two institutions and outline how entrepreneurs can benefit from funding, training and sector participation support.

The webinar seeks to create awareness about the financial and non-financial products and services offered by both the NEF and the Rand Water Foundation. Through this collaboration, the two organisations aim to empower qualifying entrepreneurs, particularly young people, by equipping them with practical knowledge on how to access funding, meet compliance requirements, and position their businesses within the water and sanitation value chain.

South Africa’s water and sanitation sector remains a critical component of infrastructure development, service delivery and economic growth. However, many emerging entrepreneurs are often unaware of available funding channels or unsure of the criteria required to participate in large-scale projects. This webinar will address those gaps by unpacking the NEF’s training and funding requirements, as well as outlining how businesses can align themselves with opportunities linked to Rand Water’s operations.

The National Empowerment Fund continues to play a central role in growing black economic participation by providing structured funding solutions and strategic support to qualifying businesses. Meanwhile, the Rand Water Foundation focuses on community upliftment, youth empowerment and sustainable water initiatives. Together, their partnership represents a coordinated effort to drive inclusive participation in one of the country’s most vital sectors.

Entrepreneurs, SMEs operating in infrastructure and sanitation, and youth interested in building sustainable businesses are encouraged to attend.
