Ntuthuko Shezi dreamed of becoming an architect and subsequently discovered that one may create their own path using architectural principles, ensuring that the curved lines throughout the journey are properly balanced. However, the wind pushed him in a different direction. Ntuthuko Shezi created Livestock Wealth in 2015 with the goal of improving their product offering, simplifying operations, and assisting their investors in growing their wealth the African way.
Transform SA spoke to Ntuthuko Shezi and Thapelo Rampai about their other entity called Farmers Club.
Q: Briefly tell us about Farmers Club and the idea behind it
Farmers Club meat is virtually 100% South African free range grass fed beef. We discovered that individuals prefer healthier foods. And healthy food is constantly out of reach. So, what we did was figure out how to offer high-quality food to the average individual. People may buy directly from the farmer, bypassing the middleman.
Q:How do you ensure that individuals can connect even when resources such as internet access are scarce?
We include many rural farmers in our supply chain by sourcing cattle from our facilities to ensure consistency in terms of quality and standards. We now service Durban and Gauteng, and we intend to grow. We have a customer in Pietermaritzburg who has a grandma in Soweto. We debit his account every month and deliver the meat to Soweto; this has been going on for two years.
Q:What are the benefits of a grass fed cow?
With the rising number of health concerns, we are attempting to meet halfway consumers who are concerned about their health by supplying top quality beef.
Q:How do you make sure that your prices remain compatible in the market?
We do have balance in certain areas. Our goal is to make sure that we still at least 20% cheaper than your normal competitors.
Q:How have the customers received your services?
Every day, we receive between 20 and 30 orders. The market response has been really positive. I believe that people gravitate toward quality, and we have work really hard to ensure that we consistently provide excellence.
Q:What are your future plans for Farmers Club?
We intend to go even more by expanding the number of subscribers. We have a fantastic marketing staff to ensure that this happens.
