TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS JOIN AFRIBIZ

Afribiz Invest has announced Phemelo Motene and Zareef Minty as the new Board members of Afribiz
Invest Board of Directors.

The two are recognized for their distinguished resumes and incredible impact in South Africa and the greater
latitude of Africa over the last few years. They join a class of incredible business people who sit on the board with
the likes of newly promoted President of Afribiz Invest, Collen Mashawana. Mashawana previously held the
position of Executive Chair of Afribiz Invest where his main focus was building strategic growth and also assisting
the state to meet their service delivery mandate in relation to infrastructure.

“I have been privileged to work alongside this exceptional team as the President of the organisation and I will
report directly to the board. My new role will strengthen Afribiz Invest’s vision ahead of its current growth and
impending international expansion.” says Mashawana. This comes after Afribiz Invest recently announced their
plans for international expansion starting in the United Arab Emirates.


“Afribiz Invest continues its aggressive growth in domestic environments despite global challenges, thus it would
only make sense for us to leverage off what we already have and invest in international markets,” said
Mashawana.

Other leading business people and leaders on the board include businesswoman Pongo Pule and Non-executive
Director Naushina Aboo.


The new appointments on the board share the vision and ambitions of Afribiz Invest. “We believe in young people
and strong women to lead us, we have to create an environment for them to be creative and grow our company
with their innovation and expertise.” said Mashawana. Phemelo is an esteemed media broadcaster and
businesswoman while Zareef is a Forbes 30 under 30 list maker and lawyer.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to be appointed on the board of Afribiz Invest, I really believe that I will add the
necessary value to an already incredible board, it’s really exciting being the youngest board member. It’s great to
see Afribiz Invest trust in the youth.” said Minty. Phemelo shared a similar sentiment for being appointed on the
board. “My appointment to the board of Afribiz is a welcome challenge. I look forward to bringing additional value
in my area of expertise to an already dynamic team.” said Motene.


Afribiz Invest has expertise in infrastructure consulting, construction, logistics & plant, building supplies,
information technology, energy, security, training, financial services as well as property development. The
company has an exemplary track record with some impressive flagship projects like the Rama City project as well
as the West Rand Mega Park project. The board comprises of 11 members with 4 executive directors.
