The University of Johannesburg is inviting black small business owners to register for the 2021 Small Business Enrichment Programme. To be conducted online, the training will start from the 24th of March and run for 22 days over a period of 14 weeks.
The training is targeted at 100% black owned and registered businesses that have been in operation for at least two years. Eligible applicants should present certified copies of their South African ID and matric certificate.
The closing date for registration is the 11th of March and the first day of orientation is the 17th of March. Youth owned businesses are encouraged to apply.
There is no registration fee required, but students must be in a position to pay for their own data for online classes. The training is sponsored by the University of Johannesburg and implemented by the Johannesburg Business School Centre for Entrepreneurship.
The small business training could not have come at the right time as South Africa grapples with a national unemployment statistic of 30 percent, with the youth most affected. Entrepreneurship has been identified as one most sustainable ways through which jobs can be created.
