Hlubi Mboya-Arnold Scholarship Announced

The SAE Institute in Cape Town is South Africa’s internationally accredited tertiary institution and is proud to announce its latest scholarship opportunity for South Africans interested in learning Film Production at a state-of-the-art campus in the heart of Cape Town at the renowned Woodstock Exchange.

The Hlubi Mboya Arnold Sunshine Cinema Scholarship will cover the full tuition fees for SAE’s full-time Higher Certificate in Film Production at the SAE Institute in Woodstock, Cape Town.

Hlubi is an award winning film and television actress, social justice and civil rights activist, sponsored athlete, educator scholar and social entrepreneur.  Hlubi, alongside Gareth Armstrong also produces Future CEO’s on CliffCentral assisting young, ambitious, up and coming, high-potential entrepreneurs and executives to grow their businesses and fast-track their careers. Sunshine Cinema is a solar powered mobile cinema that converts solar energy into social impact.

To launch the scholarship, SAE and Hlubi, in partnership with Sunshine Cinemas, will be presenting a FREE evening master classes on November 23rd at the Woodstock SAE Campus. This master class will provide the ideal opportunity for to learn new skills, pick up important tips and network with like-minded individuals.



This impact focused Storytelling master class will cover the following topics:

Education for empowerment

Women & the SA entertainment industry

Storytelling & media advocacy

Alternative distribution

This scholarship is just the latest to be announced, with other scholarship partnerships between SAE and well-known industry names including Ready D, AKA, Skrilllex and Black Coffee.

The scholarship is open to all South African citizens and all candidates must hold a Grade 12 certificate. The scholarship is only valid for the July 2018 study intake. Candidates will be responsible for all living and travel expenses should they come from outside of Cape Town.
