Nolitha Fakude appointed to Afrox board

AfroxAfrican Oxygen Limited, sub-Saharan Africa’s market leader in gases and welding products has appointed Ms Nolitha Fakude to its board of directors as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect. This was announced on Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) information dissemination service, SENS. Ms Fakude will also serve as a member of the Company’s Nominations, Governance and Management of Resources Committee.

Ms Fakude has 25 years’ experience across multiple and complex organisations in diverse industries. She has held a number of senior positions including executive director at Sasol, chairperson of Sasol Mining, non-executive director for Harmony Gold, director and group executive member at Nedbank Limited as well as managing director at the Black Management Forum.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Walter Sisulu University and Bachelor of Arts Honours from the Walter Sisulu University.

Anglo American plc also announced that Nolitha Fakude will join the Board as a non-executive director with effect from the conclusion of Anglo American’s Annual General Meeting on 24 April 2017, subject to shareholder approval.
