Manyi resigns from BBC post

8465183986_c8c1044bd3_oOutspoken transformation lobbyist Mzwanele Manyi has resigned as head of policy at the Black Business Council (BBC). The announcement was made by the BBC’s secretary-general George Sebulela, who said Manyi’s resignation from his elected position is with effect from the 20th March.

Sebulela said Manyi sent his resignation letter to the council’s president, Dr Danisa Baloyi, citing ever increasing responsibilities and time constraints as reasons for his resignation.

Manyi, a former cabinet spokesperson and president of the Black Management Forum (BMF), has been vocal on issues of transformation lately, has spent less than 7 months in his position at the BBC having been elected in September 2016.

Manyi is also president of the Progressive Professionals Forum, an organization which claims to be a platform for all professionals to stimulate intellectual debate on the progressive agenda.

Sebulela thanked Manyi for his time and dedication to the BBC and wished him well in his future ventures.
