Eight young South Africans that give hope

There are still people that make you still believe that, despite never-ending stories of corruption and maladministration in the country’s top institutions, South Africa still has a rich pool of leaders to tackle developmental challenges head-on.

Eight South African leaders have made the Choiseul 100 Africa Index, which ranks young Africans (under the age of 40) who will play a major role in the development of Africa in the near future.

The Index places Absa Capital CEO Nomkhita Nqweni at number six and is the highest ranked woman in Africa. Others include who have made the cut include Ndalo Media CEO Khanyi Dhlomo (44), Transnet Property GM Raisibe Lepule, Namibian Stock Exchange CEO Tiaan Bazuin (77), Alan Knott-Craig Jr (89), Gyft GM Vinny Lingham (91) and Pioneer Foods CFO Cindy Hess.

The list includes growing business leaders, successful entrepreneurs and investors that embody the dynamism and renewal of a whole continent and carry the hopes of an entire generation.
