Most start-ups are just given capital, a firm handshake and told: “Good luck!” No attempt is made to give them mental stamina to endure the challenges that lie ahead. It is this practice that Patrick Greenway, Managing Director of Action COACH KZN aims to change. In the coming weeks, he will be launching a new business, Business Builders.
Greenway says the idea of launching his business was initiated after realising that many entrepreneurs, when faced with problems, often did not know who to call to help fix them.
Greenway knows what it means to face hardships as an entrepreneur, hence his advice is invaluable. He did not let skeptics dissuade him when he started Action COACH KZN in 2007, after a career in the packaging industry and Coca-Cola.
Greenway believes his experience in coaching business owners will be the new Business’ Builders’ priceless asset.
He admits that, sometimes, when the going gets tough some of Action COACH’s clients want to quit. That’s when he asks them: “What would you think of a sports coach who said ‘Okay, I will do it for you if you want to quit and take a rest?”
