Women might be making inroads into the decidedly male dominated business domain, but they still fall way short in terms of numbers, comparatively.

But one woman is determined to change that status quo. Farzana Mall is on e mission to ensure that as many as her peers participate in various entrepreneurial activities.

Backed by fifteen years experience in the field of consulting, governance, strategy and business development service, Mall is just the right appointment for President Business Women Association of South Africa (BWASA) could have wished for.

As a Director in the Advisory – Risk Consulting division at KPMG South Africa and the former Regional Chairperson of the BWA KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), Mall will be the voice of women in business, at South Africa’s largest and most prominent association of business and professional leaders in the country.

Mall brings with her over 15 years of experience in providing risk consulting, governance, strategy and business development services to a number of key organisations in South Africa and internationally. She succeeds Lebohang Pheko, who resigned in August 2014.

Mall’s exceptional leadership skills have placed her as the best candidate for the new role. She has been instrumental in building KZN BWA’s credibility as one of the strongest regions of the association through raising sponsorship and lobbying for support, facilitating leadership dialogues and debates, significantly growing all BWA projects for the benefit of members, increasing media and marketing reach, appointing effective committee members to support BWA initiatives and building strong relationships in the private and public sector.

“I am honoured, humbled and grateful to have been trusted by the board with leading an association that continues to grow and develop so many businesswomen” says Mall.
