The City’s Group Finance Department is urging municipal customers to ensure they pay their accounts in full and on time before going away for the holiday season.
According to the department’s spokesperson, Kgamanyane Maphologela, many customers default on their payments over this period. “We understand that many families feel the pinch in their pockets at this time of the year, but we want to remind our customers that they are required to settle their municipal debts. Our credit control procedures continue throughout the holiday season, and we would hate to see a situation where any of our customers find themselves with the discomfort of without access to basic services like water and power simply because they missed a payment,” he says.
