Don’t be surprised at South African Airlines‘ (SAA) poor performance; it is mainly due to the failure to adapt to the technology adaptation in travel.
The carrier’s new Chief Commercial Officer, Officer Sylvain Bosc, made this observation during an event organised recently in Johannesburg by travel tech firm Sabre .
Bosc said that SAA was not providing is not providing the right digital tools for customers to help manage their travel properly, mentioning the need for
“We’re not providing the tools to consumers to manage their travel properly,” he said, citing lower online bookings in South Africa as compared to more developed markets.
Advances in technology means that hi-tech solutions available in the US can be accessed in South Africa in almost real-time thanks to cloud computing.
