Join City of Joburg Green Dialogues

From Tuesday 4 to Thursday 6 February 2014, the City of Johannesburg is proudly host the C40 Cities Mayors Summit on global climate change, for the first time on the Africa continent.

As a build-up to the Summit, the City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor, Councillor Parks Tau will host “Joburg Green Dialogues” focusing on water conservation, electricity conservation, waste management and separation at source.

Community members are urged to join the Joburg Green Dialogues taking place as follows:

The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is a network of the world’s largest cities, committed to implement meaningful and sustainable climate-related policies that will help address global climate change concerns and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The C40 Cities Mayors Summit offers cities an effective forum where they can collaborate, share knowledge, exchange ideas, forge new partnerships and drive meaningful, measurable and sustainable action on climate change.

Senior officials and mayors from over 63 leading cities around the world, come together to discuss the climate change challenges facing their cities, and share insights based on the actions they’ve taken to reduce GHG emissions. Around 700 urban and climate change leaders will join them in a series of roundtable discussions and working sessions to focus on the themes of GHG measurement and adaptation.

Joburg is a world class events destination and a progressive entity with strong and competent leadership who is passionate about actualising environmental sustainability across all its regions.
