Eskom announces short-term coal suppliers for Arnot Plant

Eskom has announced that it will use coal from Glencore, South32 and five other suppliers – Tegeta, Keaton Energy, Hlagisa Mining and Umsimbithi Mining and Exxaro Resources, with whom it did not renew a 40-year contract in December, to power the 2 100 MW Arnot power station.

The short-term supply agreements are separate from the list of bidders for the new long-term contract. Eskom is due to announce list of suppliers who make the final cut of its long-term contract by the end of the first quarter
